His favourite castle was Ebeleben Castle, where he grew up.
He resided in Ebeleben from 1642 until 1666.
From 1681, he also carried the title of Count in Ebeleben, and from 1716 Count in Arnstadt.
Towns placed in the state were : Arnstadt, Sondershausen, Gehren, Langewiesen, Gro遙reitenbach, Ebeleben, Gro遝nehrich, Greu遝n and Plaue.
